Pricing

How much does demolition cost in Knoxville?

Every demolition job is priced on the work involved. Small interior tear-outs typically start around [$___]; sheds and decks around [$___]; whole-house demolition is quoted after a walk-through. Your price depends on:

  • Size — square footage, stories and number of structures
  • Materials — wood framing vs. brick, block or concrete
  • Access — tight yards, slopes and distance for equipment
  • Debris volume — how many loads go to the landfill or recycler
  • Permits & inspections required for the structure

Before demolition: a quick checklist

  • Utilities off. Power, gas and water disconnected by the utility companies.
  • Permits. Most whole-structure demos need a permit from the City of Knoxville or Knox County.
  • Asbestos check. Older buildings may need an asbestos inspection first. We don’t remove asbestos, but we’ll point you to a licensed abatement company.
  • Salvage. Pull anything you want to keep — fixtures, cabinets, lumber.
  • Neighbors & HOA. A heads-up about equipment and noise goes a long way.

FAQ

Demolition questions

Do you haul away the debris?

Yes. Debris removal is part of every demolition job. We load it into our trucks or a JMK roll-off dumpster and haul it to the landfill or recycler.

Can you demolish just one room?

Absolutely. Kitchen and bathroom tear-outs, single walls, flooring and ceilings are some of our most common jobs. We protect the rest of the house while we work.

Do I need a permit to tear down a house in Knoxville?

Usually, yes. Demolishing a whole structure generally requires a demolition permit from the City of Knoxville or Knox County, depending on where the property is. [We can help you pull it / confirm the process.]

Do you remove mobile homes?

Yes. We demolish single and double-wide mobile homes on site and haul away the debris, including skirting, decks and steps.

Do you handle asbestos?

No. Asbestos has to be inspected and removed by a licensed abatement contractor. Once it’s cleared, we can handle the demolition.

How long does a demolition take?

Most interior jobs and small structures take [a day or less]. A whole house typically takes [__ days] including cleanup, once permits and utilities are handled.
